Cheesy Garlic Monkey Bread | Kristin’s Quick & Easy Recipes
You may want to be careful who you choose to follow. They may have you in the kitchen making cheesy garlic monkey bread. This recipe is comfort food X 10.

INGREDIENTS
dough:
- 3 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 ¼ cups milk (lukewarm)
garlic cheese herb mix:
- 2 Tablespoons butter (softened)
- 1 bulb plus four garlic cloves (divided)
- 2 ⅔ cups grated Swiss cheese
- 2 ⅔ cups grated mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons CR herb mix – or your favorite herbs such as parsley and thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
METHOD
make the dough:
- In mixing bowl (with dough hook attachment), combine flour, yeast and salt.
- Add milk and butter and mix on low until flour moistened.
- Increase speed to medium and mix for 6-8 minutes, until dough is shiny and elastic
- Cover (with a beeswax wrap, dampened cloth or plastic wrap) and let dough rise until doubled. (approx. 1 ½ – 2 hours)
roast garlic*:
- While dough is rising, roast the garlic. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
- Slice top off bulb of garlic and rub all over with olive oil. Wrap bulb in aluminum foil and roast on a baking sheet for 40 minutes.
prepare cheese mixture:
- While garlic is roasting, prepare cheese mixture. Crush the remaining four cloves of garlic and add to a large bowl along with cheeses, olive oil, herb mix, salt and pepper. Stir everything together and set aside.
- Once garlic has finished roasting, squeeze the cloves from the bulb into the cheese mixture and stir to combine.
make monkey bread:
- When dough has risen, oil a 10-inch bundt pan.
- Punch down dough and divide into roughly one-inch pieces. Roll and coat each ball of dough in the cheese mixture and place in bundt pan.
- Cover and let rise until puffy and almost reaches the top of the pan. (about 45 minutes)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
- Uncover bundt pan and bake bread for 35 – 40 minutes until the top is a deep golden brown.
- Remove from oven and let bread cool for five minutes before inverting on a platter.
- Serve immediately or can be reheated by placing in foil and placing in oven for 15 minutes at 250 degrees.
TIPS for Cheesy garlic Monkey Bread
- *Roasting your garlic is not necessary but does add depth of flavor. If using minced garlic, just add approximately 2-3 tablespoons (more or less to preference) to your cheese mixture
